Down Under Photo Album
This is a small collection of pictures I took on my trip to Australia and New Zealand. They are not exactly photographic masterpieces, but maybe you'll enjoy looking at places you've never been and may never get to.
Collins Street, Melbourne - the heart of the financial district
Bourke Street, Melbourne's shopping center. Six blocks - plus side streets - of shops, shops, shops. No cars, no trolleys, only walkers.
Kyneton, Victoria, about 80 kilometers northwest of Melbourne. I spent several days here with a friend I made on the radio, and while I was there talked to my neighbor back in Florida just to see how things were going. Very enjoyable side-trip.
Brisbane Transit Center, hub for all Queensland ground transportation. Fabulous place - snack bars, resturants, lounges, hotel, everything a weary traveler could need. I passed through here twice, once on the way to Caloundra and once on the way back.
Caloundra, Queensland.
I spent three days here with another friend I made on the radio. It's about one and a half hours by bus from Brisbane, some 85 kilometers or so. Like most of Queensland, Caloundra is sub-tropical, with a climate similar to the Bahamas. It never gets cold, only hotter. Located right on the South Pacific Ocean, the beach is only a five minute walk away.
